  • Introduction

Hillcrest Bible Church is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its first-ever Vacation Bible School this summer! We are excited about this undertaking, and looking forward to seeing what the Lord will do as we seek to share the gospel with our 5-10 year olds, and with any neighborhood children who might come. It will run June 26-30th starting daily at 6:00pm. and ending at 8:00pm.

The format of our VBS will be to have all the children (30-36 maximum) gather in the large room downstairs for the main teaching session before breaking into 3 groups for separate, rotating activities in different downstairs rooms or areas. One room will be for Bible verse memory work, a second will be for a daily craft activity, and the third for games. All of these activities will be designed to reinforce the daily lesson, and every group will participate in turn throughout the evening. Each group will have an adult leader plus helper to guide them from room to room, and each room will have activity leaders. Parents and siblings are welcome to stay as quiet observers.

  • Curriculum

Our summer Vacation Bible School program, “Hear the Good News!”, will focus on the way of salvation using the Wordless Book to teach Biblical concepts like sin, Christ’s death on the cross, cleansing from sin, the hope of heaven, and daily growth. Our prayer is that children who do not know the Savior will be introduced to Him and shown the way to be saved.

During our large group meeting, we will emphasize one concept each evening from the Wordless Book through a Bible story, skits, songs, memory verses and colors. The children will then split into three groups and move through three successive rooms where they will practice memory verses, make crafts, and play games to reinforce the basic truth introduced that evening.

So, as we prepare for VBS, let us pray that the Lord of the harvest will bless our efforts, bringing many to know Him for the first time or to know Him better.
